Heading to the beach is a favourite summer pastime for anyone in the UK, and it’s a great way to make the most of the summer without going abroad.
If you have a family, one of the best things to do at the beach is to go to a funfair. There are some brilliant seaside towns and resorts in England that have funfairs, which are perfect for your next trip.
Isle of Wight
Heading to the Isle of Wight can feel more like a proper holiday, which is great if you’re not always keen on staying in the UK. It’s been a popular holiday location for a long time, and it’s home to the UK’s oldest theme park. Blackgang Chine is more than 175 years old and offers plenty to do, with some bonus amazing views. You have a huge range of places to stay in Blackpool, and there are always shows available to see too. You definitely won’t run out of things to do, especially during the summer when everything is up and running, and crowds flock to the town.

The Pleasure Beach at Great Yarmouth is also a fantastic theme park option, with thrilling rides for adults and more family-friendly rides too. There’s also free entry into the Pleasure Beach Gardens, plus you can always stop at the tea rooms for food and drink. Great Yarmouth itself is a lovely place for holidays or a day out, with amazing sandy beaches (15 miles worth) and lots of things to do both indoors and outdoors.
