Lake District

The Lake District is a stunning mountainous region located in the North West of England. Back in 2017, it was named a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The Lake District is home to Scafell Pike, which is the highest mountain in the UK. Here you’ll find Windermere and Wast Water; these natural lakes are perfect for a swim if you enjoy fresh water swimming (and the weather permits)

Windermere Lake is 10.5 miles long, with its deepest point reaching 219 feet. For the best experience of Windermere, try taking a boat out. There are plenty of different boat types to choose from, including kayaks, cruise boats, canoes, or motor boats.

Bath

Bath is a stunning destination, ideal for your tourist adventures in the UK. Bath gets much of its fame due to the ancient Roman Baths, these were first built between 60-70 CE and used for bathing up until the 5th century. Today you can still catch a glimpse of these beautiful ancient baths. Those who are keen for a spa experience can book into the modern Thermae Bath Spa.

This contemporary spa uses water from the natural springs underneath the city and offers a range of relaxing treatments. For art lovers,  Bath is home to both the Victoria Art Gallery and the Jane Austen centre. To take in some breathing taking views of Bath, and its surrounding countryside, climb the 212 steps up Abbey Tower.

The Cotswolds

The Cotswolds is a large area that spans five different UK counties, including Oxfordshire and Wiltshire. The area is famous for the Cotswold Hills, rising from the meadows above Evesham Vale and Severn Valley. There are plenty of popular places to visit in the Cotswolds, one of which is Sudeley Castle & Gardens.

Katherine Parr, who was the last wife of Henry VIII, once lived in the Castle. When she died, she was entombed inside a church, which is now part of the castle gardens. There are many treasures to find inside including beer tankards once belonging to Charles I, lacework crafted by Anne Boleyn, and love letters written by Katherine Parr.

Cornwall

Cornwall is another popular UK destination for a peaceful break. One of the must-see places in Cornwall are The Lost Gardens of Heligan. These botanical gardens were first built in the 18th century and later rebuilt after WW1.The gardens are created to offer a jungle experience including a rope bridge, watercourses, bamboo tunnels, and sub-tropical plants. While you’re here, don’t miss out on the Minack Theatre, it’s a gorgeous open-air theatre, overlooking the sea. For those keen to catch a show, visit between May and September.
