Choose Spain for your next holiday: Spain isn’t somewhere that you only visit once. It’s a place you should want to visit several times.
*Collaborative Travel Post*
When it comes to taking a holiday, you want to choose somewhere hot, sunny, fun and full of history and things to see. And there is one place that should be on your ‘must visit’ list, and that’s Spain.
The weather, the oceans, the islands, the relaxed way of living life – it’s all there for the taking and you need to visit this vibrant country several times before you get to see it all.
Spain definitely isn’t somewhere that you only visit once. It’s a place you’ll want to visit several times. If you haven’t added it to your bucket list already, you need to.
What could be more exciting than booking with Lanzarote holidays at Club La Santa. Think about it: sun, sand, sea, sangria – what more can you want? The food? The culture? The history?
Oh, it’s all there and Spain has so much to do that will ensure that you enjoy your time away. You get to go out into the world and let go of all the stress of everyday life, and instead find somewhere to lounge and enjoy while you’re away.
But why Spain? Of all the places that you could visit in the world, why choose Spain as your holiday spot of choice? I’ve listed ten reasons below, why I think Spain should absolutely be your next choice of holiday destination.
1. Because Beaches
This is probably the most popular reason that people go to Spain. The beaches are beautiful and there are miles and miles of them all over Spain.
Spain is a beautiful country, with hills, and stunning countryside, and the beaches are so scenic and very relaxing. The water is beautiful and clear, and the sand golden.
Spanish beaches attract millions of visitors every single year and for good reason. They vary from quite little coves with wild scrubland bordering the sand, to large resorts with lots of amenities such as bars and restaurants nearby.
2. Because Nature
Spain has the prettiest landscapes, some stunning verdant forests and greenery, and some of the best Mediterranean flowers are often found in Spain.
There are so many places to hike to, walk through and enjoy without just staying in the coastal based resorts. Of course, if the beach is your thing, you can ensure that you stay in those resorts and still travel to the hiking areas.
Appreciating nature is also easier when you hop onto one of the many local boat trips. You’ll wind through the islands and stop off at different ports. This will give you the opportunity to discover some of the more out of the way natural areas.
3. Because islands
Spain isn’t just the mainland, but there are seven larger islands to consider, and you can choose to holiday on any of these.
I personally recommend seeing at least two or three of them at some point in your life. The island life is so relaxing and stress-free. I once enjoyed a dolphin watching boat trip on Gran Canaria, which was breathtaking.
The Spanish islands also enjoy amazing beaches, attractions, food and culture just as much as the mainland. You will find a lot of visitors come to the islands before they go to the busy mainland, but it’s all about chilling and relaxing no matter what.
4. Because Food
Spanish food? Yes, please! There’s so much to enjoy from tapas, chorizo and jamon, to sweet bakes and cakes, as well as fruity cocktails. Spain feeds you in so many ways but the food is spectacular.
You’re going to find so many different dishes and drinks here, both alcoholic and fresh soft drinks. You’ll enjoy all manner of regional types of dishes no matter where you are in Spain – so, the food you’ll get in Barcelona can be very different from the dishes you taste on the islands.
Once you’ve had Spanish cuisine, you’ll hanker to replicate it when you get back home, it’s one of my favourite cuisines. Especially Tapas and Sangria!
5. Because Festivals & Culture
Every year, there are a hundreds of different festivals that the Spaniards love to enjoy. The Spaniards love to party and they open their arms to welcome everyone else to join in.
You can find parties on the mainland, the islands and more. From stamping on tomatoes to open-coffin carrying, you’re going to find something to enjoy and you’re going to want to come back again and again.
The traditional Spanish festivals can be fascinating and colourful, and I’m sure that you’ll love every minute of them.
6. Because Bars with a View
The one thing that Spain has going for it is the rooftop bars. Of course, this is on top of every other amazing thing that Spain has going for it!
The chances are that you are going to be basking in sunshine and enjoying some city views in Barcelona or beach views in La Palma when you sit on a rooftop bar.
Enjoying your meal or your drink with friends when the warm evening sun is beating down on you is something else. Not only will you get some of the best views, you’ll be able to listen to some of the best Spanish street music while you relax.
7. Because Photo Ops!
Are you a photographer as a hobby? Do you love the photography and sharing your snaps on social media? Then, your Spanish holiday is going to be filled with opportunities to take plenty of amazing photos.
This is a country that is packed with beautiful street art, scenery and beaches. Everywhere you go, there is a chance for a beautiful photograph and you can start hashtagging your adventures when you post on social media.
If your photos are that good, you should think about selling them, too. Taking photos is a good way to make memories for your holiday, too.
8. Because History
From Madrid to Barcelona, you’re going to find nothing better than the buildings steeped in history in Spain.
The Sagrada Familia, the Great Mosque of Cordoba, the Prado Museum of Madrid – it’s all about finding the buildings and their history and taking that photo.
Some of the buildings have been there for centuries, and the attractions and tours alone are worth the chance to take a trip to Spain.
These buildings are breathtaking, with some of the most beautiful and stunning architecture that dates back years. You won’t ever be bored when you visit Spain, particularly if you love history.
9. Because Sunshine
The healthiest thing about Spain (other than the incredibly fresh food) is the healthy dose of vitamin D you get from the sunshine.
Spain has some of the most consistent sunshine you could hope to find – why do you think people go there every year?
The summers are cooled by the ocean breezes and even through the winter, you will get a healthy dose of sunshine to enjoy.
You won’t be able to tear yourself away from the sunshine – just don’t forget your sunscreen.
10. Because Breathtaking Sunsets
Spain is known to be a sunshine country, but it’s also the land of stunning sunsets too.
Heading to the beach during the golden hour of sunset is the closest you’ll ever get to a heavenly place in life – with sparkling seas and the golden sun setting.
Even the cities are breathtaking when they are bathed in sunshine and this really makes for a beautiful place to be.
