Egypt is a country with thousands of years of rich history. Bridging the gap between Northeast Africa, Israel and the Middle East, Egypt has a varied cultural history. With some of the most amazing historical artefacts and breathtaking sights, there is so much to do, see, and explore.
Explore The Cities
If you want to take a break from ancient history, Egypt has some vibrant modern cities such as Cairo and Alexandria. You can take in these thriving metropolises and get lost between minarets, and 19th-century architecture. With museums and shops, hustle and bustle, you may fall a little bit in love with these amazingly captivating cities.
Enjoy The Beaches
If you want to take it easy, Egypt is a wonderful place to visit to relax. With some gorgeous beach resorts available, if you choose to, you could have everything you want without having to leave the beautiful coastal views. With many tourist complexes that cater to everything you would need, you can go and soak up the sun.
Cruise The Nile
If cruises float your boat, excuse the pun, then why not take a trip down the Nile and see Egypt in style and at a much slower pace. You’ll have the opportunity to explore the wonders that you pass by too, as most cruises offer shore excursions, and, because Egypt is somewhere that you wouldn’t just want to see from a distance.
Take A Tour
If you want to see the best that Egypt has to offer, one of the best ways to see this is on one of the many guided Egypt tours. You will get so much more information from experienced local guides, and you will be shown around all of the highlights so you can be sure you won’t miss anything. With lots to see in this wonderful country, it will impossible to see everything in one visit. However, a tour will help you to make sure that you get the best from your trip.
Visit The Valley Of The Kings
On the banks of the River Nile near Luxor is situated a collection of some of the most amazing royal burial chambers that you could ever imagine. There are 63 different tombs, many of which you can explore. Some are single chambers where the riches of the Pharaohs were stored for thousands of years. The largest tomb has 120 chambers and belonged to the sons of Rameses the second.
The Pyramids Of Giza
No trip to Egypt would be complete without seeing the only remaining wonder of the ancient world. The pyramids were built around 4000 years ago by out of work farmers whose fields had been flooded. Built over around 80 years, these structures are a feat of engineering brilliance. It is staggering to imagine that an ancient culture could create something like this.
One of the jewels in the grown in the area is the Great Sphinx. Part lion, part human, this is a breathtaking sight to behold and is an essential stop off in any trip to the ancient wonder that is Egypt.

Thank you so very much for the very interesting item on Egypt. My twin brother and I were born in Cairo at the end of WW 2, he still lives in the UK so he has been back but, I have been living in Eastern Canada for many years, while bringing up our 2 children so I have not yet managed to get back to Egypt. We do travel a lot but my husband is really resistant to go because of the unstable situation in the Middle East, but I long to go, to visit some of the areas our parents wandered through. I realize the city will be quite different but I do expect the historic areas will still be the same. Is there any way I can convince him that a visit there would likely be OK. ? If you have any ideas please let me know. NB: we are not keen on organised tours though would be willing to stick to secure areas. I love to read all about your exploits and regularly try your recipes.
Best regards

I’ve actually been to Egypt a couple of times for business and enjoyed it very much. Only Cairo however. Can’t wait to take a cruise up the Nile one day…

I would also LOVE to cruise up the Nile too, it’s the one thing I’ve not done in Egypt so far!
