~ Lavender and Lace, Roses and Salt with Sarah Raven ~
AND
~ A Posy of Flowers in the Kitchen with Interflora ~
I have been writing again, off-piste so to speak as in off-blog, and I would just like to let you all know where you can read my articles……..I am a regular writer for the fabulous Sarah Raven bog, Garlic and Sapphire, as you may remember me telling you last month, Garlic and Sapphire, Sarah Raven and The Scented Kitchen: Edible Flowers & Summer Salads and you can still read my last article on the Sarah Raven blog here: The Scented Kitchen: Edible Flowers & Summer Salads. And this month’s article is all about the seasonal harvest with my herbs and flowers, plus some ideas about how to preserve summer after the harvest, in an herbal and floral way – the article is live and you can read all about my end of summer harvest here: Lavender and Lace, Roses and Salt, and, there is a FABULOUS recipe there for a Culinary Flower and Herb Salt………..
…….there are also ideas for something a little different to do with lavender, hops, herbs and late summer flowers, so please do pop over there to read it, and leave a comment if you have time too!
MY next article is all about edible flowers, and is posted on the lovely Interflora site here: Cooking with Flowers: A Posy of Flowers in the Kitchen. Again, it’s an article about how to use flowers in the kitchen, and NOT just the vase! I have also shared some unusual and interesting ideas how to offer flowers as gifts in a CULINARY sense and NOT as a bouquet either…..again, please do pop over there to read it, and again, a comment would be lovely! And talking about Interflora and flowers, keep tuned for a VERY special event I am working on with them, details to be posted later this week……
So, if you would like some ideas what to cook or bake with your marigolds, roses, violets, honeysuckle, borage, violas, primroses, lavender, nasturtium, courgette flowers, chive flowers, marjoram flowers, thyme flowers, lilac or jasmine, there are plenty ideas over on the Sarah Raven and Interflora sites, plus on my blog here: Flowers, which is part of my BRAND NEW indexing system for EASE of recipe and post searching, and I am adding to it all the time…..
That’s all my news for today, I will be back later with some reviews, new recipes, new 5:2 diet recipes as well as some exciting news about a new contest…..oh yes, I will also be posting the Herbs on Saturday and Forever Nigella Fridge Raid round ups too! Have a wonderful Tuesday, see you soon, Karen
