Christmas Jumper Day and a Birthday Girl’s
Festive Table Settings for a Singleton’s Flat!
Welcome to my Friday post, and it’s a frivolous, festive and fun post today, as well as being by way of an on-line greeting for my daughter, Hannah, as today is her birthday! Not only is it Hannah’s birthday, but it is also St Lucy’s Day (Santa Lucia) and Christmas Jumper day too – so a big day on my calendar! Although I would like to talk about St Lucy’s Day more, I have covered this magical of days already on my blog, and you can read all about it here:

So, today I am concentrating on some Christmas Jumpers, as it is the day for Christmas Jumpers, as well as some lovely tableware that I was lucky enough to receive to review from Debenhams. When I was approached by Debenhams with a view to receiving some tableware of my choice I was in a bit of a flummox, as I already have lots of lovely tableware, glasses and cutlery already; but, my daughter is still building up her “bottom drawer”, so I thought it would be nice to see what a sophisticated “singleton” would choose for her flat for Christmas and New Year, and I allowed to help me choose what tableware to receive. We chose the following pieces together and then had great fun setting it all up in her flat, and I think you will agree that is all looks amazing!

Set of four ‘Burlington’ large wine glasses
(£21)
Denby
Denby silver ‘Spice’ 16-piece cutlery set
(£80)
Debenhams
Blue twelve piece ‘Two Tone’ dinner set
(£50)
Royal Crystal Rock
Glass Star Bowl
(£8:50)
Debenhams Set of four white napkins
(£6)
As you can see from the photos, Hannah’s choice of tableware was contemporary and yet understated in a classic way, I really love what she picked and how we set the table up for a special festive meal. The colours work for every day, and yet by adding some baubles and candles to the tables, as well as some “fizz”, (with thanks to Booths, who sent me this bottle of Prosecco and some Bucks Fizz for #BoothsCheers) it all sparkles with the anticipation of Christmas! I LOVE the glasses and cutlery in particular and the stunning rock crystal bowl really adds that essential party feel to the whole setting.
What Hannah and I have achieved here is a modern festive setting that looks VERY festive, and yet once the crockery, cutlery and glassware has been put away along with the baubles and other Christmassy things, it is just as suitable for small intimate gatherings with friends as well as for every day, and I can see me LOVING my daily porridge in one of those BIG bowls! Hannah is delighted with her new “bottom drawer” bits and bobs, as am I.

Disclaimer: I was sent an eVoucher for £100 to spend at Debenhams in their Dinnerware section; I was not paid to write this post and all opinions are my own. Some of the prices of the items I bought were in the sale, so, I saved some money in the items I purchased and those sale prices are still available online. Karen S Burns-Booth
