A quick and easy recipe for a cosy supper or tea….Air Fryer Pizza Toast which I made in my Ninja Maxi Grill and Air Fryer.
A FAB Cheap & Cheerful Energy Saving Recipe
Today’s recipe is a super quick and easy one for a cosy supper or tea….Air Fryer Pizza Toast, which I made in my Ninja Max Health Grill and Air Fryer.
Made with Jacksons of Yorkshire Bloomin’ Both bloomer (bread) and odds and ends from the fridge, in the manner of a frantic fridge raid!
It’s a really cheap & cheerful recipe that only took 7 minutes to cook in the air fryer, thus saving on energy costs, and time.
This recipe for Air Fryer Pizza Toast was absolutely delectable, and it’s so easy to make; plus, as with most of the recipes I post on Lavender & Lovage, they are easily adaptable to what you have to hand.
I used up some ham and cheese slices that were lurking in the back of the fridge – as well as pimento stuffed olives, as I always have a jar of olives open.
Howwver, I realise that jalapeño cheese slices and/or olives might not appeal to children, so I’ve shared a few other ideas below, and some suggestions for veggie and vegan too.
Substitutions and Notes
To save more energy costs you can put the toast in whilst the air fryer is heating up, it may take a couple of minutes longer to cook, but you will save more time as the appliance will not be heating up, which takes about 5 to 8 minutes.
Make this vegetarian by omitting the ham and adding sliced peppers or mushrooms.
Make it vegan by using vegan cheese and omitting the cheese. Add more vegetables as above.
Add any cold cuts or charcuterie you have to hand, such as saucisson, pepperoni or chorizo, as well as cold cooked beef, chicken etc.
Use any cheese you have to hand, strong cheeses work best, but mozzarella is also great in this recipe.

An awful lot of us don’t have an Air Fryer…..so can you please give other methods to cook this please as it looks so tasty!
Louise Perry says
We use our toaster oven to make pizza toasts . . . Just as easy and can easily see the cheese melting!

Are toaster ovens also energy efficient? I’ve seen them and have been tempted!

I’ll let you know when I have made it without an air fryer.
