12 fabulous recipes that will make your Christmas Party table sparkle! From soup to mini Yorkshire puddings and decadent desserts, all in one place for ease.
For ALL of your Festive Buffets!
Good morning from a very wet and windy North Wales, it’s certainly that time of year for drizzly weather. But, to brighten up the day and hopefully inspire you with some Delicious recipes for the Festive period, I’ve compiled an easy to access resource with 12 Sparkling CHRISTMAS PARTY Recipes. These recipes are ALL tried and tested, are my most visited and popular party recipes, and make a regular appearance at Chez Lavender & Lovage. I hope you are inspired to make one or more of them, and if you need to ask me about any of the recipes, such as how to make them veggie or vegan, or increase the amounts, please leave a comment at the bottom of this post, and, I will be happy to help. Have a lovely Tuesday, it is now officially only two weeks until Christmas Eve, and I will be back very soon with some more seasonal recipe ideas, as well as some NEW recipes too. See you soon, Karen
12 Sparkling CHRISTMAS PARTY Recipes
“Cheesemas Tree” Cheese Board
Dispense with those little cheese and pineapple on sticks, or those cheese and silverskin onions on sticks, ditch the cheese knife and get creative this New Year with this fabulous and fun “Cheesemas Tree” Cheese Board.
Cheese and Celery Pinwheels (Whirls)
These delightful little cheese and celery canapés are best served with fresh celery sticks and a pinch of celery salt for that extra celery kick. You can also make them larger to accompany soups, stews and salads. (I used Fenland Celery, which is in season between October and December, but use any local seasonal celery you have to hand)
Devilled Egg Baguette Bites
Easy to make, and even easier to eat, these Retro inspired Devilled Egg Baguette Bites have only 5 ingredients in them, and are on the table in under 10 minutes once the eggs have boiled, have cooled and been shelled.
Verrines of Brussels Sprout Velouté
(Creamy Brussels Sprouts Soup)
These elegant little Verrines of Brussels Sprout Velouté are fabulous as part of any festive canapé buffet table. Can be made with freshly cooked sprouts or leftovers.
Smoked Salmon and Oatcake Canapés
These Smoked Salmon and Oatcake Canapés are perfect when served with a glass of champagne for a special occasion.
Stilton & Pecan Oatcake Canapés with Onion Jam
Elegant little Stilton & Pecan Oatcake Canapés with Onion Jam that are perfect for any special occasion cocktail party or buffet.
Mini Yorkshire Puddings with Spiced Red Cabbage and Ham
Fabulous little Yorkshire pudding canapés that always disappear fast – these are made with my traditional Yorkshire pudding, glazed marmalade gammon/ham and spiced red cabbage recipes on Lavender and Lovage.
Stilton and Walnut Open Danish Sandwich Toasts with Cranberry Relish
Appetising little Danish style open sandwiches that would be perfect as part of the cheeseboard as well as on the festive canapé table.
Mini Soda Bread Scones with Smoked Salmon and Chive Cream
Fabulous little soda bread scones that are just perfect when served with smoked salmon and chive lemon cream for the festive canapé table. Use the best smoked salmon for these, wild smoked salmon has a wonderful deep orange colour that is very attractive.
Mini Clementine Jelly Trifles
These delightful little trifles are made in small water glasses as part of a special canapé buffet table. If you are serving them to children, you can omit the brandy.
“Tear & Share” Christmas Tree Cinnamon Rolls
I make these “Tear & Share” rolls every Christmas Eve, and, they can be made two ways – with home-made croissant or Danish pastry dough, or, if time is very short, you can use ready-made puff pastry. We always start the evening of festive feasting with these buttery, flaky spiced rolls, served with a mug of hot chocolate and cream whilst we decorate the Christmas tree, as it is a family tradition to wait until we are all together to decorate the tree on Christmas Eve. If there are any of these delectable rolls left, then they can be enjoyed as part of family Christmas Day breakfast the next day.
Tea Cup After Eight Chocolate Mint Mousse
These little chocolate mint mousses are delightfully decadent and rich, but also light and fluffy and are very easy to make with just one box of After Eight mints and some whipping cream. The crème de menthe liqueur adds an extra minty kick, but if serving these to children, you can omit this if you like. Perfect for ending any special meal at times such as Christmas, Easter, Thanksgiving, Birthdays and Anniversaries.
