I cannot believe how time has flown by so quickly and we are heading towards the end of November. Which means dear readers, it’s nearly Thanksgiving and only 4 weeks away from Christmas. I realise that these two important festive celebrations and holidays may be very different this year, but whatever happens, there is still room for pie or cake, however small your family gathering is.
For most people, cakes and pies feature quite heavily throughout the festive period. They range from traditional cakes and pies, to humble pies, as in simple pies for a family supper or lunch. Pumpkin pie is obviously very popular, as are any showstopper cakes and gateaux. Many years ago I spent seven years in Warwick. During that time my husband, kids, and I were able to travel a bit and enjoy local foods (don’t get me started on fat rascals). I’ve followed your blog for many years and have made many of your recipes. They remind me of my home in Warwick. Now, I am home in Los Angeles, but my daughter lives in Reading so happily I’m able to visit and eat too much gorgeous British food.
